Coinciding with the UAEs 45th birthday this weeks tournament schedule was packed with excitement and challenges.
Our first of 7 events started in Cambridge International School with the Red Champions League. For those not up to speed with the Champions League this is a competition which encourages inclusion for all players who want to start competing in a far more relaxed and fun way with the results of each match accumulating less points than the participation total! More than 40 players played a minimum of 4 matches throughout the morning with all receiving certificates. Coach Ivans Aces, Christians Ice Creams and Pauls Desert Donuts all knocked previous leader Coach Abbas’ Warriors off the top with the Aces looking strong at the summit as we move into the New Year. Keep an eye out though because we may host a special, double pointed, Christmas Special!
Whilst all this was happening the Aviation Club was overflowing with outstanding tennis. Hussein Nada beat Younes Jenkins in a captivating 12 and under Boys Finals whilst Coumba Ben powered her way to victory against Andra Sirbu in the girls.
Following that the 10 and under Greens took to the courts with Aryan Nanda getting the better of, long term rival, Anthony Moukarcel whilst Aditi Gulati proved too strong for Aashita Chatuverdy in the girls competition.
Finally the 14 and under 3 set event graced the courts and, as ever, we will keep you up to date with scores etc throughout the week on Facebook and our website.
