Following a grueling season with tears or pain and joy our Adidas Masters Series Champions finally congregated at Terminal 1 at 10:30pm on Saturday 30th May for the trip of a lifetime. Our SWISS flight his Zurich was absolutely flawless and most of the group managed to sleep for. Few hours.
Day 1. Site seeing
Arriving very early on Sunday morning our team of players could not hide their excitement as they threw their bags in the hotel rooms and immediately took to the streets of Paris. After the obligatory Arc De Triumphe, shopping on the Champs Elysse the team had the honour of playing on a clay court under the Eiffel Tower.
Day 2. Roland Garros
Where do you begin? Federer, Monfils, Sharapova losing to Safarova, Serena being pushed by Stephens? Whatever and whoever it was one of the most memorable days for all the children. Our Adidas VIP tickets allowed the team opportunities which most will never have! Amazing seats and a stunning lunch left the children starry eyed with celebrities of sport and screen everywhere. Andres and Mafuz were particular impressed by the Junior matches on the outside courts with both making mental notes of the next generation of superstars.
Day 3. Euro Disney
When in Paris you have to do 3 things. Shop, watch the tennis and finally go and say ‘Bonjour’ to Mickey and friends. With children of such different ages there is something for everyone, including Mafuz (probably the biggest child of them all) and Andres. Rollercoasters, arcades and the famous shows. It was a stunning end to a stunning trip.
Arriving back in Dubai late Wednesday evening the exhausted team said their farewells to one another as they returned to normality and looked forward to the bragging rights they would have in school the next day….. Although we don’t know if many of the players would have the energy for a day in school?
So another incredible year has passed and more children have experienced the greatest prize in junior tennis. Our partnerships with Adidas and SWISS have gone from strength to strength and we cannot stress how unique and special they made our experience.
It’s less than 5 months until the ‘roller coaster’ ride starts again! Will you be on that plane in May next year?
