Another simply beautiful day saw the the youngest and oldest of our Junior competitors battle for the titles as the 8 and under Red players and 14 and under girls and boys took to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis courts in Garhoud.
The ‘Little Chickens’ got the day started with more than 20 stars of the future waking up bright and early to try and take the the first titles of the day. The Boys event saw Santiago ORTEGA take on Gabriel T. D Oliveira a in a fabulous match with Santiago coming through 11/7 The Girls final pitched ABIGEL Hanna FAGHIHI against Mara DJUKIC in a high level match before ABIGEL managed to take the plaudits 13/11. After this the 14 and unders graced the courts with some scintillating tennis. In the girls event some familiar names reached the latter stages with the final being contested between VIPASHA MEHRA and Renee Acena
After some titanic rallies it was VIPASHA who managed to pull through winning 6/5 (7/4).Then it was left to the Boys to add to the incredible quality and they did not fail! AMAN ANWAR and ANURAG REDDY battled through the draw to meet in the final during which some stunning tennis was on display. It was left for Aman to take the match and title6/3. At the point of writing this the Green 3 set tournament and some other pending matches due the bad weather from last weeks were still still on play and will be reported on later in the week.
Next week sees the 12 under series early morning 7.30 and 10 under from 11.30am
Also we will have the 14 under 3 set tournament in the afternoon from 3.30 pm.
